Educational Qualification:
- For Technical/ITI Trades: Must have passed Class 10th/12th and hold a valid ITI Trade Certificate in the respective field.
- For Non-Technical/Graduate Trades (Pathology, Accounts, Micro Finance, PR): Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (B.Com, B.Sc, B.A, BCA, or equivalent) from a recognized university.
Age Limit: 18 to 34 years. Candidates outside this age block are ineligible.
Important Restriction: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently pursuing an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961, are not eligible.

Selection Process
- Shortlisting & Merit List: Candidates will be chosen based on academic percentages in their qualifying degrees or ITI certifications.
- Document Verification: Selected candidates will receive verification timelines via their registered mobile number and email ID.

- Step 1 (Mandatory Portal Registration): Go to the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal via apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Create a profile, complete your e-KYC validation, and secure your Apprentice Portal Registration Number.
- Step 2 (SMC Application): Visit the official Surat Municipal Corporation website at suratmunicipal.gov.in.
- Scroll down to the “Careers / Recruitment” tab and click on “List of Current Apprentice Recruitment(s) (2026-2027)”.
- Select your specific trade or discipline from the directory and click “Apply Now”.
- Fill in your personal information, communication coordinates, educational details, and your NAPS registration code.
- Verify your form fields, upload your supporting certificates, and submit the portal application before 10 June 2026 (11:00 PM).
