Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (As on 31.12.2026)

  • Degree Requirement: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • Final Year Candidates: Candidates in their final year/semester of graduation may also apply provisionally, provided they produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before December 31, 2026 if provisionally selected.
  • Local Language Proficiency: Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State/UT only and must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the specified local language of that State/UT.

Selection Process

The selection procedure comprises three distinct stages:

  1. Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online)
    • Objective test carrying 100 marks (1 Hour duration) divided into three sections:
      • English Language (30 Questions, 30 Marks, 20 Minutes)
      • Numerical Ability (35 Questions, 35 Marks, 20 Minutes)
      • Reasoning Ability (35 Questions, 35 Marks, 20 Minutes)
    • Negative marking: 1/4th mark deducted for each wrong answer.
  2. Phase-II: Main Examination (Online)
    • Objective test carrying 200 marks (2 Hours 45 Minutes duration) covering:
      • General / Financial Awareness (50 Questions, 50 Marks, 35 Minutes)
      • General English (40 Questions, 40 Marks, 35 Minutes)
      • Quantitative Aptitude (50 Questions, 50 Marks, 45 Minutes)
      • Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude (50 Questions, 60 Marks, 45 Minutes)
    • Negative marking of 1/4th mark applies for each incorrect answer. No sectional cutoff marks are prescribed.
  3. Specified Local Language Test
    • Candidates selected provisionally must produce proof of studying the specified local language in 10th or 12th standard. Others will undergo a local language test prior to final appointment.
