Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

The graduation qualification must have been obtained between 1 January 2023 and 1 September 2026.

Candidates must also fulfil the prescribed local-language requirements for the state they choose.

Age Limit

The age limit will be calculated as of 1 September 2026.

Minimum Age: 20 Years
Maximum Age: 28 Years

Candidates must have been born between 2 September 1998 and 1 September 2006, inclusive.

Age Relaxation:

SC/ST: 5 Years
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
PwBD: 10 Years
Widows/Divorced Women/Women Legally Separated (not remarried): Up to 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST.

Salary:

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹16,650 during the 12-month apprenticeship training period.

Canara Bank’s Contribution: ₹10,500 per month
Government of India Contribution: ₹6,150 per month

Apprentices will not be eligible for additional allowances or employee benefits. They will receive a joint NATS certificate after completing the training.

Application Fee:

General/OBC/EWS Candidates: ₹500 (including GST and intimation charges)
SC/ST/PwBD Candidates: Nil

The application fee must be paid online. Once paid, the fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process

The selection process does not include a written examination. Candidates will be selected through the following stages:

Merit List: Selection will be based on marks obtained in Class 12 (10+2) or Diploma.
Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce the required original documents.
Local Language Test: Candidates who cannot provide the prescribed Class 10 or Class 12 language proof may have to take a local-language test.
Medical Fitness: Final engagement is subject to medical fitness as prescribed by the bank.

For the merit list, candidates must have at least 60% marks for General/OBC/EWS categories and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD categories. In the event of a tie, the older candidate will receive preference.

Other Eligibility Conditions

Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training with Canara Bank or another organisation are not eligible.
Candidates with one year or more of training or job experience after completing their qualifying degree are not eligible.
Ex-Servicemen are not eligible for this apprenticeship.
Candidates must satisfy the local-language requirements of their selected state.

Register on the official NATS apprenticeship portal and complete your profile.
Visit the official Canara Bank website.
Open the Careers section and select Recruitment.
Find the notification titled Engagement of Graduate Apprentices in Canara Bank under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for FY 2026–27.
Click on the new registration link.
Enter your NATS enrolment ID and other required personal details.
Select your preferred state and district preferences as instructed.
Upload the required documents and complete the application form.
Pay the applicable application fee online.
Review all the information and submit the application before 17 October 2026.
Download and retain a copy of the submitted application for future reference.
