Stipend Scale

  • Monthly Stipend: Selected trade apprentices are paid a monthly training stipend strictly in compliance with the rules set by the Apprentices Act, 1961, and Ministry of Railways directives. The exact scale corresponds to the technical designation tier during the training year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational & Technical Qualifications:
    • Must have passed SSC / Matriculation / Class 10 examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized school board.
    • Must possess a valid regular ITI Certificate in the corresponding relevant trade issued by NCVT / SCVT, recognized by the Government of India.
    • Note: Candidates whose final results for Class 10 or ITI are awaited as of the notification date are not eligible to apply. Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are also excluded from this scheme.

Selection Process

The intake list is compiled cleanly through qualification tracking rather than conventional written or oral entry examinations:

  1. Merit List Generation: Preparation of a structural merit ranking calculated from the average percentage marks obtained in both Matriculation (with a minimum 50% aggregate) and the ITI trade examination, giving equal weightage to both parameters.
  2. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be invited to present original academic transcripts, trade papers, central caste certificates (if applicable), and medical fitness profiles.
  3. Medical Clearance: Satisfying the standard physical and medical fitness benchmarks certified by an authorized railway medical officer.

  1. Ready digital scans of your Class 10 marksheet, ITI passing credentials, valid identity card, recent passport-size coloured photograph, and signature file on your terminal.
  2. Navigate directly to the official digital administrative career gateway: rrcpryj.org.
  3. Locate the “Act Apprentice (01/2026)” menu bar and access the online application wizard interface.
  4. If you are a new applicant, generate your user dashboard credentials using a valid personal email ID and an active mobile network.
  5. Log back into the terminal, choose your targeted division or workshop pool, and select your respective ITI trade code.
  6. Populate the descriptive fields matching personal metrics and absolute aggregate educational scoring marks.
  7. Upload your required document blocks into the matching validation boxes.
  8. Remit the non-refundable processing fee of ₹100/- (if applicable) through the integrated payment gateway interface.
  9. Verify all entries carefully during the final preview page layout, execute your submission, and keep a printed copy of the summary confirmation sheet for upcoming document verification rounds.
