Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has released an official recruitment notification for the direct recruitment of Mining Sirdar and Surveyor posts. A total of 259 vacancies is available for eligible candidates.

Educational Qualification
Mining Sirdar
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
- In addition, applicants should possess a valid Mining Sirdar Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS along with a valid Gas Testing Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
- Candidates holding a Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering with a valid Overman Certificate of Competency, Gas Testing Certificate, and First Aid Certificate are also eligible.
Surveyor (Mining)
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination.
- Applicants should possess a Diploma or Degree in Mining or Mine Surveying Engineering, along with a valid Surveyor Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS.
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age as on 5 August 2026.
- Age relaxation will be provided to eligible reserved category candidates as per Government of India rules.
Salary
- Mining Sirdar (T&S Grade C): Basic Pay of ₹47,330.25 per month.
- Surveyor (Mining) (T&S Grade B): Basic Pay of ₹51,103.12 per month.
- Selected candidates will also receive other admissible allowances and benefits as per the National Coal Wage Agreement.
Application Fee
- General, OBC (NCL), and EWS candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹1,180 (₹1,000 + 18% GST).
- SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, and Departmental candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination
- The CBT will carry 100 marks with a duration of 90 minutes.
