Post-Wise Pay Scale

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200/- per month)
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100/-) and Pay Level-5 (₹29,200 – ₹92,300/- per month)
  • Data Entry Operator (Grade ‘A’): Pay Level-4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100/- per month)

Educational Qualification Requirements

  • For LDC / JSA and DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ (General Cadres): Must have passed Class 12th (Standard / Intermediate) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council.
  • For DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ in specific departments (e.g., Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture, etc.): Must have passed Class 12th in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board.

(Note: Candidates appearing in their 12th standard or equivalent examination can also apply, provided they acquire the essential qualification on or before October 07, 2026).

Age Limit Criteria

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 27 Years (Candidates born not earlier than August 02, 1999, and not later than August 01, 2008)

Permissible Age Relaxations:

  • SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years (up to 32 years)
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 Years (up to 30 years)
  • PwBD (Unreserved): 10 Years

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of three major evaluation stages:

  • Tier-I Examination (Computer-Based Test):
  • Objective multiple-choice paper carrying 100 questions (200 marks) for 60 minutes.
  • Sections include: English Language (25 Qs / 50 Marks), General Intelligence (25 Qs / 50 Marks), Quantitative Aptitude (25 Qs / 50 Marks), and General Awareness (25 Qs / 50 Marks).
  • Negative marking of 0.50 marks per incorrect answer.
  • Tier-II Examination (Computer-Based Test & Skill Test):
  • Session-I: Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning & General Intelligence, English Language & Comprehension, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge Module.
  • Session-II: Skill Test / Typing Test Module:
  • Typing Test for LDC / JSA: 35 WPM in English or 30 WPM in Hindi.
  • Skill Test for DEO: 8,000 Key Depressions Per Hour (KDPH) or 15,000 KDPH for specialized departments.
  • Document Verification (DV): Conducted directly by the user departments/ministries following the final selection recommendation.

How to Apply Online

Eligible candidates can apply online by following these steps:

  • Visit the official Staff Selection Commission portal.
  • Complete your One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC portal if not done previously (old OTR credentials from the former portal are invalid).
  • Log in with your registration number and password.
  • Go to Live Examinations and click Apply under Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026.
  • Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and exam center choices (select 3 centers within the same SSC region).
  • Take a real-time photograph through the webcam/browser module (or via the official mySSC app) and upload a clear scanned signature.
